Armen Hagopjanian, DPM, FACFAS, is the Founder and CEO of the Los Angeles Institute of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He specializes in trauma and reconstruction of the foot and ankle, total ankle and total talus replacement, and some of the most complex ankle revision surgeries. Dr. Hagopjanian is the first podiatric surgeon to establish a total ankle replacement program in Los Angeles and continues to train surgeons across the country to perform this challenging yet rewarding procedure. He serves as a consultant for several major orthopedic companies and teaches internationally. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hagopjanian is actively involved in charitable efforts. He is the President of the Eternal Nation Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports injured soldiers in Armenia.
Dr. Hagopjanian began his medical education at Yerevan State Medical Institute in Armenia. He later continued his medical career in the United States, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine (now part of Samuel Merritt College). Dr. Hagopjanian is board-certified in foot and ankle surgery, as well as reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the California Podiatric Medical Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
